We are committed to using resources and manufacturing our products responsibly and sustainably. For Dura Supreme, environmental stewardship is not just the right thing to do; it’s good business. As we continue to lead in the cabinet-making industry, we recognize that our responsibility extends beyond delivering high-quality products to embrace environmental sustainability as a core component of our operations and company culture.
3R Initiatives
At Dura Supreme, we value our natural resources and recognize the impact of waste on the environment and the potential for savings through waste management practices.
Here are just a few of the many practices we do to Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle:
- We’ve developed partnerships to reclaim wood waste, including recycling wood waste at the Dura Supreme, Howard Lake location to be used as livestock bedding, minimizing waste output, and supporting our local farming community.
- We use a streamlined finish process that incorporates a state-of-the-art finish line reclamation system to reclaim and reuse finish materials. Solvents are distilled off-site, sent back to the facility, and reused.
- Recycling stations (i.e., plastic, paper, etc.) are available throughout our Howard Lake facility.
- Motion sensors and programmable thermostats in the Howard Lake office and facility are used to minimize the use of heat and light.
- We use energy-efficient motors with soft-start technology for our production equipment to reduce peak load energy requirements.
- Voluntary participation in a local Minnesota energy curtailment program to reduce peak power demand.

Restoring Our Environment
We recognize the importance of healthy forests and ecosystems for the well-being of our planet. We are committed to supporting environmental restoration through national and local initiatives. For example, MasterBrand is proud partners with the National Forest Foundation (NFF), a non-profit organization dedicated to restoring and enhancing national forests. Through MasterBrand’s partnership, last year, in 2024, NFF planted 40,000 trees on our behalf, contributing to the health and sustainability of our nation’s forests.
